How to remove right protected USB?
The USB with right protected should be opened. I have tried: Right protected. I think it was caused by: corrupted USB
- If the USB has some rights that do not allow you to access it, then you should start with a disk check first. Press the Windows and "E" keys and right-click the USB drive with the corrupted USB. Select "Properties". Click the "Tools" tab. Click "Check Now..." Start the process and retest the USB for access.
- If you cannot access or format your USB drive, then you may need to repartition it. Press the Windows key and type "create and format disk partitions". Press "Enter". Locate your USB in the lower pane of Disk Management and right-click it. Select "Mark Partition as Active". Then, select "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." if the device did not show any letter in File Explorer. Change the letter to an available one (for example, "M"). Then, right-click the partition again and select "Format..." Select the "NTFS" file system and the smallest allocation-unit size. Format it to make it usable again.
- If you also have problems writing on the USB drive, then press the Windows key and type "regedit". Press "Enter". Expand entries one by one (they are separated by the slash):
- Click "StorageDevicePolicies". Double-click "WriteProtect". Change the value "0" in "Value data". Click "OK" and close Registry Editor.
