How to recover pictures from a Samsung Galaxy Note3 with a non-working digitizer?

My phone's screen is black. I can receive phone calls but everything is black. I took it to Verizon and they will send a new one but I want my pictures. When I plug the phone into to the PC it says there are no files on the phone.

Since your phone can connect to your PC, it means that you turned the MTP (media transfer protocol) settings on at some point. This is good; it allows your phone to connect to your PC. However, you still have one step left: you need to download Samsung Kies 3. Samsung Kies 3 is a great program that allows you to transfer your Samsung phone's files to your computer with very little effort. Click this link to download and install Samsung Kies 3. Once the application is installed, plug your device into your computer while it's on and Kies will open. Then, simply follow the onscreen instructions to backup your phone's data, including your pictures.

Verizon Gal Note3 on T-Mobile: I just installed FoxFi which required a password on my screen. I set the password and everything worked. Decided to change password to a motion, couldn't get to the motion box so I put the pin in the box. It asked me to confirm the pin. As I was putting in the confirming pin a message popped up "settings has stopped..." or something similar. Now my pin will not unlock the screen. Tried several times. Removed SIM and SD and put in old phone and it worked, so SIM is not locked. How to get the Note3 unlocked?
