Files and folders have disappeared from USB drive?

The first time my files and folders disappeared from my pen drive, I looked up Google and did the attrib -r -s trick and recovered everything. Scanned for viruses, nothing. Formatted pen drive soon after and copied back my data. Two or so weeks after that I encountered the same problem . Around 1GB of my data is missing. Today morning I accessed the same data and saved it, ejected the pen drive properly. 4 hours later the data is missing. Trying the attrib trick recovered my data partially but half or more of my data is still missing. Please Help ASAP.

Folders displayed, files not displayed on a new USB memory stick?

Hi, well I transferred files and folders to a new USB memory stick today, but now I can only see the folders, and not the files in them. Just a message saying 'this folder is empty'. I know the folders aren't empty because under 'properties' it shows data space is in use. I have gone into the Windows control panel and selected 'show hidden files and folders', but it made no difference. How do I see the files?!. Thanks for your help - if you can help?. I have tried: See above. I think it was caused by: No idea
