Aside from speaking in a lower voice, there won't be that much you can do to permanently change your voice. Follow the instructions in the main article and see if that helps, but don't worry too much about the way you sound. Every voice is unique, and none are ever that bad.

What you describe may be a symptom (but we are not doctors, so you have to see a doctor to get a diagnosis not a guess) for globus pharyngis, which is the sensation of lump or inflammation of parts of the throat or induced tightening of the muscles around the throat. While you are waiting for an appointment with the doctor, try not to talk much and use your voice only when necessary. Drink a lot of warm water with honey, lemon, and licorice root (1 tablespoon of each per cup). Lemon can be harmful for the voice in large quantities, but it helps to remove mucus from the throat that may contribute to the overall feeling that you have; so, you can only increase the amount of honey and licorice root per cup. Reduce emotional stress to minimum as relaxation occurs with a minimum amount of stress. If you have to sing as a professional singer, then schedule your shows or rehearsals to two hours after waking up when the vocal cords and throat are the most relaxed.
