How to full use the bandwidth provided by ISP?
I have a plan of 512 kbps max download provided by my ISP, but only getting around 320 kbps on uTorrent. The torrent has around 500 seeds. what to do?
First of all, in the Terms of Service or another agreement with your ISP, there is a written rule to the average and maximum speeds serviced. Maximum speeds are often reachable during the night time when there is no load on the network. You can test your current upload and download speed with http://www.speedtest.net/.
Some providers manage to throttle torrent speeds, but the difference in your provided and maximum speeds does not hint at that (just check it with the Speed Test provided above).
To avoid throttling, VPNs like the one in the link, which are paid servers providing direct connection between a server that downloads torrents and your computer, are used.
Just wandering if there is a governor in the program that I could change?
I used to be able to download a gig in less than an hour, or a min some times, but now it's 1 hr and a 1/2 for 300 Mb. it may be my connection seeing as how its been a while since I used this but just seeing if there's any tips to speed up my rate.. I have tried: Increasing half connections... different ports... etc.... I think it was caused by: Probably my internet connection... I'm using XFINITY hotspot which is not very fast so I'm looking to tweak my software
