How to factory restore my generic Android tablet?

Hi, I have a generic tablet which hangs on the Android logo. I tried the various different button combinations to try to enter recovery mode which I just can not seem to get to. The buttons I have are power, volume + and -, and a back button. There is a little restart hole on the back -- I tried holding it down for one minute then releasing and nothing, it just hangs still on the Android logo.

Since none of the button combinations listed in the great VisiHow article below work for you, and you have a dedicated reset button on your tablet, do the following:

  • Charge your tablet completely.
  • Turn your device on and hold the reset button.
    • If your tablet turns on and boots to its recovery screen, follow the instructions in the VisiHow article below.
    • If your tablet turns on and hangs on the Android screen, continue to the next step.

  • Turn the tablet off and try to start it with just the reset button.
    • If it works, then follow the VisiHow guide below.
    • If it doesn't work, you will need to call your tablet's manufacturer to schedule a repair for your device. The reset button should override all other bootup procedures to boot your phone into its recovery mode; since it's not working and no other button combinations work, you will need to get your tablet repaired or at least troubleshooted with one of your manufacturer's customer service representatives.

I have a generic Android tablet running Kitkat 4.4?

The screen boots to the word Android with the robot and just stays there. I am not able to get to any settings to try and repair the machine. Every once in a while I can get it to boot as if it is trying to go to reset and an Android robot with check open an a spinning three dimensional object in center. It then disappears and goes back to the standard Android word with the robot.
