How to download resume from LiveCareer for free?

Ad

Unfortunately, there's no way to download the resume you've created for free. That seems to be their business model - get people to spend time building their resume, and then hope that enough of them pay afterward once they realize that you could only create it for free but not download a copy of it to then send out to prospective employers. Also note that their current pricing plan (as of March 2016) is that you are not just purchasing a one-time download of the resume you created, but subscribing to a plan that will charge your credit card every month. If you do decide to pay, be sure to cancel the plan afterward so that you do not pay more than you intended to.

One alternative to paying LiveCareer is to recreate the resume yourself with a word processor. You can still use LiveCareer's templates, tools and suggestions to create a resume that you're happy with, then take the time to rewrite it in a free word processor such as Google Docs. Not only will you end up getting your resume for free, you'll learn another valuable skill and add a line to that resume! No matter what job you're applying to, if you're handing in a formal resume as part of the application, having the computer skills to create that resume can only be a benefit. It may take some practice and trial and error to get it looking perfect, but it's well worth learning. Resumes are not that complicated - they are just about selecting the right combination of font styles and sizing with indents and bullets as appropriate. Considering that you'll already have an image of what you want the final version to look like from the LiveCareer site, you should be able to create your own resume without having to pay for it.

Just finished a resume on livecareer after all that work now I'm told it is useless unless I pay them?

They hid the fact that they charged and fee. What's the point of having a resume that I can't download or print? It was advertised as FREE. I hate people who say FREE then add a fee later. Just feeling angry because don't have money to give them, and haven't had money in months. What a waste of my time and effort. I hate Livecareer

Unfortunately, Livecareer does not advertise in advance that their resume builder is not free to download. Rather, they advertise it as a free resume builder, which it technically is. But, much like a free house builder providing homes you can't live in, it can be viewed as a waste of time.

That said, you can use many of the same settings for the resume you built on live career, and paste them into a Google Docs folder, or use Microsoft Online Office, 100% free, which you can then print from. There are also other free services and templates linked in our main guide on the topic. This is available by clicking the title of this page, or by clicking the link to the full article at the end of the article summary in this Q&A.

I really need my resume printed because I'm a student applying for a scholarship and this is one of the requirements?

I made a resume on Resume Builder, now it is charging to print the resume but I don't have a credit card to pay for it.

Where is my work?? I created a CV, I paid, WHERE IS IT?

I spent over two hours creating the perfect cover letter for my dream job. I PAID the fee it asked for a 14 day full access in order to use the resume. After paying I was directed back to livecareer with a box that gave me two options: Make a resume or download a resume. Where is the document I made and paid for??? Please help the deadline is soon and I need that cover letter. Again, I am not trying to print for free, I PAID. Can you please help me find my work? I am beyond frustrated and would be furious to find I wasted my time. It's different because I did pay. I paid the fee. And now I am being asked to create or download a document after spending TWO HOURS making the perfect CV. I have tried: Logging in, FAQ, Emailing, It's too late to call or to chat. I think it was caused by: I have no idea what happened but I need that work done. I paid. Where is my work?

Your resume should be located in your Account tab that you created. If it is not there, clear the cache and cookies on your PC browser and open the LiveCareer again. You should see it if it was saved properly.
