A Note on Color Filters and Video

Color filters are not available for video. You will need to use a movie editor with movie filters, such as the one HERE.

Questions and Answers

My iPhone 5 camera is suddenly only taking black and white pictures - no color.

There is no color in the photos taken on my iPhone 5.

First, make sure you are in the "PHOTO" section when you launch the Camera application. Slide left or right to get to the "PHOTO" option. Tap the three intersecting circles in the bottom-right corner and tap "None" in the middle.

When I take a photo, the color of the photo looks light yellow.

How can I change the color to make the photo perfect?

That means that a filter is selected. You can remove the filter by tapping the three intersecting circles in the lower-right corner. Tap "None" among the filter options to reset your filter.

Hi, My iPhone camera resolution is much lower than it used to be, and I'm trying to fix it..

Right now it takes only 300KB size pictures. They used to be triple that size. Any suggestions? Thanks

First of all, you might have selected the front camera. To switch back to the standard camera, tap the icon with two arrows and a camera in the top-right corner when you are in the "PHOTO" section of the Camera application.

Also, the Camera might glitch, and you might want to tap the lightning icon in the top-left corner and then tap "Off". The resolution should go back up.

How can I take a color pic with my iPhone 4S?

All my filters look like you're looking through an old picture negative.

Tap the icon with three circles in the bottom-right corner when you are in the "PHOTO" section of your Camera application. Your filter was probably set to "Noir". To get it back to normal, select "None".

Green color effect is seen in front camera.

When I switch to front camera on iPhone 6 plus, the image looks green, and not a natural color. I have tried: Switching off and then rebooting but it's the same, and not rectified.

Digital filter instead of glass filter on iPhone?

Hi, a friend of mine, a molecular biologist, takes photos of DNA on electrophoresis gels. Upon illuminating the gel with blue light, green fluorescent DNA bands are revealed in the gel. To better capture the band image, the entire gel is conventionally photographed through an orange filter. Recently, my friend noticed that his iPhone is able to take gel pictures as clear as a dedicated digital camera, with the orange glass filter apposed to the iPhone. An alternative would be to take the photo without the physical filter, but using a software color filter on the iPhone. Would that be that feasible? Thanking for your kindness
