How do you prepare ginger to use as antiseptic in a open wound?

I recently cut my leg open &had to receive stitches but I have chrohns & I'm on humira & entyvio & having complications healing. I would like to use some ginger on or take some ginger to help with also being on antibiotics. How do I prepare it & how much?
