This article will show you how to hook up your Samsung Galaxy S3 to your big screen TV. There are 2 ways that you can mirror your phone screen to a TV. However, you must have a Samsung Galaxy phone and a Samsung TV in order for you to push the images from your Samsung Galaxy S3 to your TV. Other brands of TV's will not work with these methods.

If you have a Samsung phone and a Samsung TV, then you can simply download the Smart View application from your phone and link it to your TV. However, you will need to check and see if your TV is compatible with the Smart View application.

There are 3 things you need to remember:

1 - You must have the Samsung Smart View application installed on your phone

2 - Your phone and your TV must be connected to the same network

3 - Your TV and Samsung Galaxy must be compatible with each other.

Once you have installed the Smart View application on your phone, make sure that the TV is connected to the same network as your phone. By launching the application on your phone, everything will just be tapping "next" and "continue". All features are free and no charges will be made to your phone bill by mirroring you phone screen to your TV.

The 2nd option for hooking up your phone to your TV is by using adapters. There are 2 types of adapters that you can purchase in the market. One is for wireless and one is for wired connection.

First off is the wireless adapter. This is called an MHL converter. Things to prepare:

MHL Converter

HDMI Cord

HD TV

Original USB cord that came with your phone

Any Android device.

With the MHL cable, you just need to plug the cables into the appropriate slots. It goes from your phone, to the MHL converter, then to your HD TV. You do not need to install any software. Once everything has been connected, all you need to do is to change the video output of the TV to your HDMI channel 1 or 2.

Your second option is wireless mirroring that works similar to the Smart View app. This adapter has a compatibility list as well and must have a pre-installed application called Miracast. By using this adapter, you can push any images or your phone to your big screen without any hassle. Just like the previous method. this is also quite simple.

Things to Prepare:

Push to TV adapter or PTV3000 made by Netgear

HDMI Cord

Phone with a pre-installed Miracast application.

If your phone does not have a pre-installed Miracast application, then this will not work for you. Even if you download the application from Play Store, it will not work. If you do not have the Miracast application, then you should try using the previous method.

Samsung Tab to Samsung TV image problem?

I have a cable MHL to HDMI & micro USB. I Have a Samsung Tab S 10.5" table with XFINITY TV Togo which displays TV programs for me. I attach the cable between the TV and the tablet per instructions. Earlier this week it worked fine. Now it does not work. I have power cycled the TV and the tablet. I have switched the HDMI ports and verified that the TV pro selection is to the correct port. NOTHING HELPS. I have gone into SETTINGS on the tablet and gone to the tab MIRROR SETTINGS and run a SCAN on AVAILABLE DEVICES. nothing shows up. I have tried this pattern with 2 sets of cables. Both cables can't be bad. I have tried: See prior info
