How do I unlock a phone without a Google account?

I am trying to access the files on an old phone, but I don't remember my pattern lock and my Google account is now active on another phone

You can actually use the same Google account on multiple Android devices. Try the pattern lock code a few more times and see if the phone prompts you to enter your Gmail login info. If it does, simply log in with the same account that you used to set up the phone.

You will have to provide the email (Gmail) and password you used to sync your Google Play store with. But you have to be connected via data connection or WiFi. If not, you will have to do a Hard Reset.

How can I unlock my Android after forgetting the password?

I reset my phone password because the screen showed where I used a pattern lock. When resetting the password, I made a typo in the password. I cannot get the password to work, nor does my phone have a "forgot password" button. What do I do?

If you accidentally created a password which is different from the one that you wanted and could no longer unlock the phone due to it, and the phone does not have a forgot password, then the only option you have is to Hard Reset the device which will erase the data in your internal storage but not what is on the SD card.

If it is showing the "you have entered the password incorrectly, please wait after XX seconds", you will have to enter the wrong passcode more until you reach the "account locked" screen which will ask for your email and password. The email is a Gmail account which you used to sync with your Google Play store. You will have to be connected to the internet via WiFi or data connection to be able to reset the passcode successfully. If not, you will have to do a Factory Reset.
