How do I unlock the screen to my ZTE T815?

I have been using another phone for the last couple of months and it is not working now ! I want to use my other phone but have forgotten the password for the screen lock. I have tried: I can't get past the screen lock so I can't try anything! I only can get emergency calls !. I think it was caused by: I have a bad memory and because its been over a month I can't remember the password!

I found a ZTE phone with a cracked screen. To my surprise, the device actually powers back on. However I can get past where login ID is on the phone. I'd like to just wipe the phone continue using it, if possible. I think whom ever had this phone just left it "because" the screen is cracked?
