Questions and Answers

How can I tell if a Samsung Galaxy S III GT-i9300 is fake or genuine?

I have an app downloaded to check the Samsung Galaxy S III serial number. I checked my number and it showed my phone is made in China, so I have a doubt that it's a clone.

It's important to know that just because your Samsung Galaxy S III GT-i9300 was manufactured in China does not mean it's a clone. Samsung often uses factories in China to mass-produce its popular Galaxy line of phones, so the fact that your device originates from that country actually says nothing about its authenticity. However, if you're still worried that your phone is a clone, you can use the suggestions in the great VisiHow article below to check to make sure that your device is genuine. In addition, you will want to connect your phone to your computer using Samsung Kies. If Kies recognizes your phone, it's likely genuine; if it does not, it could be fake. Your next step is to call Samsung's customer support service to speak to a customer service representative who can help you determine whether or not your device is a genuine Samsung product. Give the customer service representative your phone's serial and IMEI numbers. The representative will then put the numbers into Samsung's database to determine your phone's authenticity. If the representative finds your numbers in Samsung's systems, your phone is genuine. If they don't, however, you unfortunately have a fake device on your hands.
