How do I invite certain people, without them bringing someone else, and costing more to a birthday party?
They are very controlling people on my husband's side of the family, and monies are limited as to how many people I can invite, so I'm afraid the other members of his family will be hurt.. I have tried: Explaining the situation. I think it was caused by: Exclusion of certain family members
This is a very tough situation where you have to either invite only parents (or even no parents at all) and friends or everyone. If you start inviting more people and omit someone, then he or she may feel frustrated, notwithstanding reasonable explanations. If you are looking for a fun birthday party, limit it to friends and parents and promise your other relatives to come by. Now, for the invitation.
I invite you to my birthday party that will be held on [date] at [place]. Then, we shall move to [place] for lunch. [You can also modify this sentence with any other locations where you plan to go].
