How do I distinguish a fake Samsung Galaxy Note3 from an original one?

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Note3 but when I connect it to my computer it only shows that it has 3GB of memory.

First, it's important to note the differences between memory and storage. Memory, also known as RAM, is a fast storage system designed to keep your most-used applications available for quick use by your operating system. Large memory amounts also allows you to run more applications on your phone at once. In this case, your Samsung Galaxy Note3 does in fact have 3GB of RAM memory.

However, if you mean to say that your computer is showing that your Samsung Galaxy Note3 has 3GB of storage, then you may have a fake device. The Samsung Galaxy Note3 comes with at least 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable with an SD card. To check to see if your phone has less than 32GB of total internal storage (and your computer wasn't just reading the amount of free storage after reading your photos, videos, and other files), do the following:

Tap the Apps icon, which is located in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and looks like a grid.

Scroll to and tap on the Settings icon.

You can now view all of your phone's storage information. If your phone has roughly 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, your device is very likely genuine. If you only have 3GB of free space left, you may want to delete some SMS messages, emails, and unused applications to free up some more of your storage. However, if it has less or more than that, it's a fake and you will need to contact Samsung's customer support service to report the clone.

Lacking upgrade for Galaxy Note3 - wondering if it is a fake?

Hi, I bought a SIM and a carrier free Galaxy Note3 and I am waiting for the Android upgrade to 5.1 or even 5.1.1 and I'm now wondering if it's a genuine Note3, because my research tells me this model has had the 5.0 update out for quite a while now. I keep checking for OTA and Kies updates and nothing. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Many thanks.
