When you just connect your phone to the computer you could see it as a memory but not your files like photos , video and etc. So to transfer your pictures to the computer, download a software called Kies it is used to sync your photo and any files between your Phone and computer. But just to make sure before running the software you first need to change your USB settings or set it to Media device (MTP). Then connect your phone in the computer and run the software.

  • Connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 to your computer, via USB cable.
  • Wait until your phone is detected by your PC, then on your phone wait till it says "Connected as Media Device".
  • Pull down the notifications panel.
  • Tap on "Connect as a media device ' Media device (MTP)".
  • That's it. Your phone is now connected as a media device.

Where are videos stored on my GS4?

I shot a video, and I'm connected (via USB) and I don't know what folder to look in for video. I know that .jpg are stored within the DCIM folder. I thought that video was, too.

We are having trouble copying an .m4a file from our computer to our Samsung S4?

We have tried Windows Explorer, which is how we transferred most of the music to the phone. We tried Windows Media Player and Kies. The result is always the same. It almost shows the transfer complete and then it stops. I Windows error says that the device has stopped. It also says that the phone cannot play .m4a files, but there are several on the phone already that play just fine. I am not sure what has happened that transferring a file stopped working.
