The only way you can use your computer's internet on your phone is by using the Reverse Tether app. It's not free, though; there's a trial version, but it only allows you to connect to the internet for a short amount of time.

As to ports on Galaxy S5: do I have to use both to transfer data to phone from PC?

My S5 has two ports at the bottom. When I connect my S3 lead, S5 does not show up on my computer.

There is only one port at the bottom of S5: it is a USB with a small separator. To transfer data, you will need only the original S5 cable and Kies or Smart Switch software. You can buy a replacement cable on Amazon or in the Samsung store.
