As you have excluded any physical damage that might be caused by dropping the phone into water, then you need to enter the download mode. Usually, that involves connecting to the computer with the USB cable while holding the volume down, home, and power buttons for 5 seconds (they key combination may vary). Use ODIN to reflash another firmware that you can, for example, obtain from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/. This time, when flashing, uncheck the "Auto Reboot" checkbox in ODIN.

The other solution is taking out the battery for one minute and then placing it back and charging the phone.

If the phone still does not respond, then the screen might need replacement at a Samsung service center.

Screen turns white after ODIN mode flashing, and the device is not apparently connecting to Kies?

Hi, I got the same problem described by other visitors on the page, whereas my phone was on ODIN mode then the screen turned white. I tried to connect it via Samsung Kies, but the screen on the laptop keeps getting stuck on 'Connecting. The device is not connecting to Kies, and it keeps showing 'Connecting' and does not proceed any further. I have tried: Removing the battery, waiting, flashing the ODIN mode, removing the battery & SD & SIM then returning the battery and trying to power the device. I think it was caused by: I am not sure, as it has been lagging lately and not functioning properly. I am low on memory, but that was for a while. The phone dropped yesterday, but it worked fine (Calls, messages, apps, browsing, etc.). Over 24 hours after it fell, the problem started. I would appreciate any insights you may give!
