If you are using a different emulator aside from the PPPSSPP, such as Emu paradise and if you have downloaded a game that is currently in .rar file. You need to extract the file first on your computer before you can place the game file you want to play using your emulator.

Go to the .rar file that you have downloaded and right click the .rar. Select the extract here or extract to and it will show up a folder from where you have extracted it. Open the file folder that you have extracted and look for an .ISO or .cso file as that would be the game file.

How can I run PS1 files on the PPSSPP emulator. I have the Gold version?

I just bought the Gold Version of PPSSPP, and I was curious how does one play PSX (PlayStation 1) titles on it. I know you can't do EBOOT PSX files, and I was curious how to get the PS1 ISO running right with the PPSSPP emulator.

PlayStation Portable itself has a PlayStation emulator for PSP, which is not emulated by PPSSPP. PPSSPP Gold is no exception, as it is no different from PPSSPP at all. For PlayStation 1 emulation, you can use ePCXe or PCSX-Reloaded.
