Go straight to the Facebook Messenger application.
It looks like a white and blue icon with a lightning sign inside of it. Give it a single tap to open it and it will take us to the "Recent" chat window.

We need to go to the "People" section.
If we look on our bottom menu bar, the third icon says "People". Give it a tap and it will show all of the people who are online. Unlike the Facebook application itself, if we close the chat on Facebook in order to keep ourselves offline, but we're still using the application, we lose the option to see who else is online. In Facebook, we can see who's online even when we deactivate our online status.

To do that, we need to turn this little green switch off.
Let's turn it off. We can not see people who are online in the Messenger.

I want to do hide last seen and online status from messenger with my Android phone?

I want to do hide last seen and online status from messenger with my Android phone. I have tried lots of things but its failure. Can you help me out?

I used this YouTube Tutoria created by Zack Tube. It is all done on the PC or internet browser. What I did discover, though, is that you do need to redo this from time to time. Mostly the changes get set back to default when Facebook or Messenger updates their app.

I am using Samsung ON7..how can I activate my status as online mobile?

I have a tablet from Verizon to get Facebook and send messages, but I want privacy (no one can read my messages)

So help me on what to do. Thank you so much for your help

Messages sent through the chat functions of Facebook remain private. You can configure your Privacy within the app as shown in the above Zack Tube video on Android. If you do not want anyone reading your messages within the Messenger App, sign out of it. If someone is on your tablet, they will not be able to view your messages unless you are signed in. You can do this within the App Settings.

I want to know how to hide my log in time on HTC m8?

Don't want anyone to know last time active or if on, have chat off and active off but can't get another view

For Android, edit the Privacy/Security/App functions as shown on this page. You have to go a little further than just turning the two things you already did to OFF. It also has to be done in the Facebook browser version and not the app.

I don't care to see favorites in the middle of the screen. Nor do I care to see who's active. How do I get rid of these?

How do I get rid of what I've mentioned?. I have tried: Sliding the bar to the left gives option to hide but they keep reappearing.. I think it was caused by: Some new version of the messenger maybe?

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

This is one of the most frustrating implementations in the Messenger App. Tap the three dotted lines in the right corner above Favorites, Active, and Groups. You will have to keep hiding every time you get a new message or content. There is nothing permanent as a solution from the app developers yet.

How do I stop people seeing when I am on or how long ago I was on Messenger?

My ex boyfriend has messenger and Facebook but he deactivated his Facebook acct?

Yet every few days it appears he was either on messenger or Facebook, what gives

I just went through your situation in that a person deactivated their account, I unfriended them, and still they were able to message me within Messenger. You have to go to his Messenger conversation. Then tap the Options and there is a method to Block. Once you block, they will not be able to message you or see you online. You also within the browser Facebook can configure who sees you on Messenger. As a Preventive tool, I suggest filtering him out.

Facebook messenger app messages can't open on iPhone 5S once I tap?

I see a messenger icon on the left bottom part of iPhone 5S showing a part of a message. but does not show who sent it. . . the messenger icon is like the camera icon on the right bottom part of the iPhone when its on lock mode.. . when I open it in the messenger app, it does not show the full message.. . I am frustrated to open it. . . my husband has been cheating on me.. . thank you!. I have tried: Checked his archived on messenger app.. I think it was caused by: I don't know.. all I know he had been hiding their conversations

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

It is because he signed out of the app. You will still get the notification but not be able to view the message as long as he is logged out. If you think he has been cheating on you, end the suspicion by insisting he log into his phone and show you who he is messaging. If he refuses and you have other signs then he probably is cheating or at least talking to someone that he knows is wrong.

My boyfriend somehow removed a feature on my Facebook to have only a selected group of people see my online status?

Under the settings wheel, advanced settings (in the messenger chat section). I need to add these options back in. It used to give me three options:. Turn off chat for only some contacts... (and then gives you the opportunity to enter the names). Turn off chat for all contacts except.... Turn off chat for all contacts. . Now I only get this:. Turn on chat for all contacts. Turn off chat for all contacts. . How do I get the three options back? I just explained it
