You can search for default passwords online on this web site. It can also be "admin" or a blank field for the user name and a blank field, "password", "admin", or "1234" for the password. Your name and password can also be in the contract with your ISP printed out for you and handed to you.

You can also reset the password. To do so, find the manual for your router and look for the reset function. If you cannot find the manual that came with the router, then you can search for it online by entering the model and brand of the router in the search field on a search engine web site like http://www.yahoo.com. The reset function is usually activated by pushing a hidden button on the back side of the device for several seconds. This will require you to set up your router anew, entering all of your Internet service provider (ISP) data to provide proper connection. The ISP data can be seen either on the ISP web site in a set-up section or in the contract that you have signed with the ISP.
