Questions and Answers
Hi. I have hurt my boyfriend so badly and he doesn't answer my calls or texts?
We had a fight and he insulted me, I got so angry and called his office (manager). He almost got fired and doesn't want to talk to me.. I have tried: Tried sending SMS's apologizing and calling. I think it was caused by: My anger issues
The good news is that you realize you have anger issues. It is the first step in getting the anger under control. Our first instinct when we are emotionally hurt is to lash out and hurt the other person even deeper than we are. This begins a cycle of numerous failed relationships that are deemed toxic from the outside. Learning how to deal with your anger and how to cope effectively is not easy. Anger brought forth by emotion is a sign that you need to learn coping skills on how to handle emotional conflict. It can be done. Contact a local women's mental health group or your local YWCA to inquire about getting help for anger issues. There is no shame in this but instead, it is exemplary that you are requesting help.
For the next few weeks, do not contact your boyfriend. Send one final text that you are getting help for your anger issues and that you will wait for him to contact you. Give all the control to him which will help with repairing the damage you did by contacting his employer. To some people, that would seem like more of an obsessive girlfriend than someone who was just mad. All of this is said with the understanding that he did insult you which was not okay either. Still, your actions far outweighed the punishment for the insults.
Something else to consider. From an employer standpoint, they do not want to hear about home life drama. Obviously, if a family member is ill or something to that magnitude or if you would like to arrange a surprise trip and are contacting to see about time off for your partner then this is okay.
