Questions and Answers
Hi. How can I reach high notes and get falsettos without straining and how to practice whistle tones?
How to reach high notes without even straining and hit whistle notes like Mariah Carey?
To achieve high notes and falsettos without straining while you're singing, you will need to learn how to properly breathe as you sing. A lot of singing instructors call it "singing from your diaphragm. To use your diaphragm:
- Stand up.
- Breathe in and extend your stomach as far as you can.
- Exhale and push your stomach in as far as you can.
- Do not move your shoulders.
This technique will strengthen your diaphragm so you can hit a variety of low, mid, and high notes. To sing using your diaphragm, use the same steps as above, but replace "breathe" and "exhale" with "sing."
Whistle notes, on the other hand, take substantially more practice to achieve. You will still be using your diaphragm, but you must breathe in even more air in order for your vocal cords to achieve such high notes.
Even after you have are able to achieve these high notes with your voice, there is still one more step you need to take. You need to take care of your singing voice by drinking the correct liquids before you begin -- read the great, in-depth VisiHow article below to learn about the proper things to drink to keep your singing voice beautiful.
- If you have problems with any of these steps, ask a question for more help, or post in the comments section below.
