Questions and Answers

Hi, when I transfer movies, videos, from my Galaxy S4 to a Windows desktop, the sound never plays?

Don't know what I'm doing, or do I need to use quick time or something else on the PC.

I believe that you can play the video on your phone and audio too. However, when you transfer the file to your computer and play it that way for a bigger screen, you only have video but no audio at all.

The reason why it was not having an Audio is due to incompatibility or outdated and the file from your phone is not being supported by your video player. If you are using one video payer only like Windows media player.

It is best that you try some other video player as well. I suggest that you VLC player, Quicktime or Realtime and any other player.

One of the reasons why a media file from a mobile phone (like movies or videos) has no sound when played on a Windows desktop computer is that the computer's media player is not fully updated, or simply, it lacks additional media codecs to play different media files. There are two ways to rectify this issue: one way is to update the codecs of your Windows media player and another way is to simply download a media player capable of playing almost any types of video formats like the VLC player or the QuickTime player.

You can download the freeware VLC media player and the QuickTime media player here:

https://www.apple.com/quicktime/what-is/

In regards to your query, you can either use a program like the VLC/QuickTime media player or not use a program by simply updating your Windows media codecs to properly play the videos from your mobile phone.

I've got Windows 8.1 and I'm trying to figure out how to get it to download photos from my Galaxy S4?

Please help figure out how to pull up device...and how to transfer photos

You should be able to use Samsung Kies to manage this operation, or one of the other options in that guide. Likewise, if you prefer not to install third party software, you can use Microsoft Windows Media Player to manage photos.

Can you help me in ANY way retrieve my photos from my Samsung Galaxy S4?

I am absolutely heartbroken! I just got married on 7/11/14 and my new husband and I went on a honeymoon to Jamaica - it was amazing but now we don't have 1 photo since my phone is broken.

While in Jamaica about 3 weeks ago now, I dropped my phone face first and cracked my screen pretty good. My phone still functioned as normal...until yesterday. My phone had died while I was at work, so I went to get my charger and plugged it into my laptop. It charged to about 30% before I turned it on. when I turned it on, the device was trying to connect to my computer or something, it didn't do it...next thing ya know I look over and it did. But either way nothing happened ...really. Until I look back at my phone about 10 minutes later to a black screen and it will not turn on ever since then. I took it to my provider who deactivated my phone and I had to get a new shipping out. However I still have the device and with no SD card, only a SIM card I am wondering if there is anyone in the world who can help me out....or if all I will have are memories from my honeymoon with no pictures or videos. I mean I am just so sad, I have videos on there from before the wedding, us girls getting ready, a special note to my husband before I walked to meet him at the altar.... SO many special memories, and no video or photos... please tell me if you can help me

  • If your phone has a password, but the screen no longer works, but you are able to get it to charge, high end shops can copy photos from your memory card, or replace the screen - without resetting your device. You should expect to pay from $200 to $500 for a service like this.

How to connect the Samsung S4 to PC so that the phone shows as a physical drive?

I want to create an image file of my Samsung S4. When connecting to PC, the phone connects as MTP, not USB MSD. It is then recognized as portable device in device manager, not a drive letter. Third party software cannot find the connected device. Any way to make Samsung S4 visible as physical drive?

You can use one of three methods:

  1. 1
Run an FTP server from your phone, and access it from the computer - as long as both are on the same network.

  2. 2
Downgrade from Kitkat to JellyBean or an older release
    .
Google changed MTP in Kitkat, and that's why you have this problem.
