Help with booting Windows from a flash?

Hi, I'm trying to re-install Windows 7 on my PC but I don't have the disks and cannot burn to a DVD. I do have a flash drive with 32GB of space on it and I have my product key.

If you wanted to reinstall your Windows 7 Operating System but has no disk or can burn. You can simply use your 32GB USB as a bootable USB. See the steps below on how you can make your USB as bootable:

1. Create an ISO file first. If you do not know how to make an ISO file, at the end of this steps will show you on how to.

2. Download the Windows 7 DVD or USB Download tool. This tool can be downloaded from Microsoft itself and it is free. Go to this link: images2.store.microsoft.com/prod/clustera/framework/w7udt/1.0/en-us/Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe After you download the file, simply run the installer to install it on your computer and launch the program.

3. Click on the browse once you launched the program then select the ISO file. Look for the file and hit on open. Simply click next or continue to proceed

4. Now, click on USB device and choose the media type on your screen and hit next. Insert now your USB to your computer then select on start copying on the Boot tool and select the USB as the destination. This will delete everything on your USB as it will ask you to erase everything and if it did not, that means that the USB is already empty.

5. Wait for the message on your screen to be completed and you should be able to see there the message of "Bootable USB device created successfully". This means that you have created your own bootable USB, you may now close all the Windows on your screen.

If you are going to boot from the USB. You need to change the bootloader. Instead of booting from the main drive, change it to your USB drive to start the process of reinstallation of your Windows 7 Operating system.

Here is a tutorial on how you can make an ISO file.

1. Download a BurnAware Free first from this link: www.burnaware.com/downloads.html this is a free program that you can download.

2. After you download the file, simply extract it and run the file of burnware_free. Everything in the installation are much of click next and agree to the license only.

3. After the installation of the program, run it. One the main screen of the BurnAware program, click the copy to Image then click from source and hit on browse. Set a location after then hit on the save button.

4. Insert your DVD, CD that you wanted to create and ISO image and repeat the step 3 then select on Copy. Wait for the process till it completes it and click on OK to close the Windows and you have now your ISO File.
