Groom a Cat

Hello, dear VisiHow viewers! This is a tutorial on how to groom your cat by brushing and washing it.
We start by relaxing or entertaining the cat.
We can play with it or give it some food.
After that, we prepare a metal brush.
We prepare a rubber brush too.
We take the metal brush and brush the back, the sides, the paws, the tail, the chest, and the belly of our cat.
For a long-haired cat, we start brushing it from the paws. We make upward strokes when brushing long hair, we untangle all of the knots, and we part hair where needed, which is usually at the tail.
Our motions must be light at the chest and belly areas, as stronger strokes may hurt our cat.
We may want to keep brushing our cat for two to five minutes.
Next, we brush our cat with the rubber brush.
This will remove loose hair.
We can use hands to pick hair when needed.
For short-haired cats, brushing once per week is enough; for long-haired cats, brushing should be performed once per day.
Now, we must find a place to bathe our cat.
The possible places may include a sink, a bathtub, and a basin.
We prepare a rubber mat to provide a solid standing point for the cat.
We prepare cat shampoo, a towel, and any source of abundance of warm water.
The water can be in several bottles or buckets, or it might come from a tap or a shower.
We fill the vessel with five to ten centimeters (two-four inches) of warm water.
The water should feel very warm to the touch of the forearm.
We place the cat into the vessel and wet the cat with the water.
We start washing the cat.
We must avoid getting the water into its nose, eyes, and ears.
As soon as the hair is completely wet, we spread a little amount of cat shampoo over its hair.
We wash the paws, the belly, the neck, the back, the sides, and the tail of the cat.
We rinse out the shampoo.
We must always remember that our cat does not like the water and will attempt to escape by hurting us or itself. There should be a second person nearby for less obedient cats.
We take the cat into a warm room with closed Windows, and we wipe its hair with a towel until our cat is not too wet.
The cat may feel very uncomfortable with open Windows.
We must wait for several minutes before we brush the hair a bit with the rubber brush again.
