Graphic card Nvidia 525m can support PS2 games on PC?

Minimum graphic card for playing PS2 games

Ad

Yes, NVIDIA 525M is supported.

The minimum requirement is a card that supports the pixel shader model 2.0 technology, excluding FX cards. If we speak about NVIDIA cards, then your GeForce GT 525M card is supported by the PCSX2 emulator. When choosing NVIDIA cards, take 8600GT as a minimum and 460GTX as maximum. For ATI cards, get HD4650 as a minimum and HD 8950 as a maximum.

Now, let us compare your 525M with 8600GT: click this link to see the comparison. From the comparison, we can infer that your card should be all right for emulation, but there may be titles that will run slow (check [http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=501&gid2=389&compare=geforce-gt-525m-vs-geforce-gtx-460 the comparison with 460GTX).

How do I know my PC has the correct requirements?

Where can I find out about the requirements of my PC being up to standard of what this program needs to run

The minimum (which is synonymous to being able to run games but not being able to play them) and recommended specifications are listed on the official PCSX2 web site.

Here are the recommended specifications, which may change as the program gets developed:

  • Windows Vista / Windows 7 (32bit or 64bit) with the latest DirectX. Anything higher than that will not affect the performance much;
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.2 GHz; i3/i5/i7 @ 2.8 GHz; AMD Phenom II @ 3.2 GHz or better. Also, if you use i5 and i7, LGA 1366, 1155, 2011-3, etc., will have different speeds (2011-3 being the fastest).
  • GPU: NVidia 8800 GT. You can compare your card here: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GT-8800-vs-GeForce-GT-610. In this example, GT 610 is below the recommended specifications.
  • RAM: 1 GB on Linux; 2 GB or more on Windows Vista and up.
