Will USB mouse work on my non responsive Galaxy S5?

Hi, OK I have a Galaxy S5, that had a broken, blacked out screen several months ago. Last night I took another broken S5 and pulled the screen, and replaced the older on with it. Now the screen does come on, however, it doesn't respond to touch. I'm pretty sure I broke the thin metal ribbon going from the front of the screen, between layers, to the back. Will a USB mouse work. I just want to surf on it and see what is on it really. I have tried: Nothing.. I think it was caused by: Broken ribbon.
