Edited by Thor, Claudia, Eng, Anonymous
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to clear space on the SD card of the HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the screen, press down until we see this icon here and then swipe up.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen.
At the bottom, we will see these icons below.
Swipe the notification panel down from the top of the screen.
Now we can see that the notification panel has appeared.
In the top right-hand corner of the screen, we can see that there is a white cog icon.
This is our settings icon, press down on it and it will open up our "Settings" menu.
Scroll down in "Settings" almost to the bottom and find the section titled "Phone".
Scroll down to the "Storage" section.
Next to it, there is an icon of a USB. Press on it and it will take us to the storage menu.
There are two sections for this storage menu.
There is the first section, which is the phone storage. We have to scroll down to get to the SD card section. It will say "SD card".
We are looking for the option "Make More Space".
It will get more storage space by clearing out app caches and uninstalling applications.
Press down on this option and now it will show us the total memory being used on our SD card.
It says here that 6.03 megabytes out of 14.48 gigabytes are used. The gray bar here shows that the more memory is used, the more this bar will be green.
The items that are in the storage are showed below.
If you have different items stored on your SD card, more items will show up here, such as applications, or voice recordings, etc.
We are going to press down on "Gallery".
It will show us the photos we are currently storing on the SD card.
On the right-hand side of the screen, there is a box for each image.
By pressing down on one of these boxes we put a white check inside and the box has turned green. This means the item has been selected.
In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is the menu icon.
There are 3 small white squares in a vertical line.
It will bring up a selection sorting options.
This will help us organize ourselves in this section. We can "Select All", "Deselect All", "Sort by Name" or "Sort by Size". Press down on them if we need to sort the files.
Now that we have selected the image, we have two options on the bottom.
We have the option to move this to the phone. What this means is if we want to clear space on the SD card, we don't need to delete everything. If we want to keep it and make more space on the SD card and move it to our phone, then press this option.
The other option is to delete it completely.
It will also have the number of the items selected. When we are done, press down on "DELETE" and "OK" if we want to delete it, or "Cancel" if we want to go back.
Now we can see that the file has been deleted and it has taken us back to this menu if we want to delete something else.
This process works the same way for all of the different folders.
This then concludes our tutorial on how to make more space on the SD card on the HTC One M8.
