Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to format text when using the OneNote application on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button on the right-hand side of the phone.
Swipe the lock screen up to enter the Home screen.
We need to enter the OneNote application.
I have the OneNote tile on my Home screen.
If the tile is not on your Home Screen, you will need to swipe from right to left to enter the App menu and find OneNote there.
We'll press the OneNote tile to open it.
Now, we are going to enter my personal notebook, tom's Notebook.
At the next screen, tap on Quick Notes.
Now, we want to create a new note, so press the plus sign at the bottom of the screen.
Now, we've entered a new note.
To format the text, what we're going to do is press the menu icon, which is the ellipsis, or three dots, located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Now, we can scroll down a little to find format.
As you can see, we have different options.
We have an option to highlight things. We can put some things in bold, italics, underlined, or even just cross through it.
If we want to type the title in bold, tap on the B.
Now we can enter the title, and the text will be bolded.
To go back into formatting, press the ellipsis again, and then go to format again.
To turn bold off, just press the B again.
Now we can just type in normal style.
We can add a bullet point by pressing the list button at the bottom of the screen.
Double tap on a word to select it.
Go into the menu again by tapping on the ellipsis.
Go to format again, and now we can add any effects to the text.
Let's add a highlight.
Now, you can see that it has highlighted the text.
You can do this to highlight entire passages, or you can use any other of the formatting tools just by highlighting a section, going into format, and pressing the desired choice. This is similar to formatting text on Microsoft Word.
This concludes our tutorial on how to format text when using the OneNote application on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
