How to unlock a Samsung Galaxy S5 without factory resetting?
I did a system update on my phone last night because I haven't used this phone in a while, so it needed it. I went to bed and woke up, and there is a password on my lock screen, and I didn't make one? Now I am locked out of my device, and I'd rather not do a factory reset. I have tried: I have not tried any methods yet. All methods I have found the need to be on the phone to get it. I think it was caused by: Factory reset on the phone is the only thing I can think that could have done this.
First, try Samsung's Find My Mobile to see if you can unlock your device using their website. If this does not work, then attempt a password like 0000, 1234, the last 4 digits of your IMEI, or NULL. Eventually, after enough attempts, you will see Forgot Password or an option to login using your Google Account.
Forgot my password but I don't want to reset?
A reset will delete all of my WhatsApp conversations, photos, and emails. What can I do?
You can simply reset your password, by visiting the Google Account Recovery Portal. You will be guided through a series of questions by Google, which will let Google remotely reset your password. Once this is done, you will need to set a new password, and then you will be able to access your device again, without needing to perform a Factory Reset, or losing any of your WhatsApp conversations from your message list.
Forgot lock screen pin for my old GS3?
I am trying to access some information on my old GS3, but I can't remember my lock screen pin to save my life! I tried to go the Google.com/Android/devicemanager route, but since my phone is not activated on Verizon anymore, I can't use it. Is there any way to get around this and get back into my old phone?! HELP!!
You are trying the wrong Google program. You need Google Accounts Recovery if you are not using the same Google Account right now with a newer phone. Otherwise, you will have to hard reset. It is an older phone, so hopefully, you will not lose data you want when you hard reset.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925P?
I am locked out of my phone completely. It is encrypted and won't take my password, and I don't know my PIN. I am in the middle of a civil lawsuit, and there is a lot of photographic and video evidence on it. Therefore I can't afford to lose my data. I do have an external card reader, but my SIM card is not compatible. Help!
Login in from the PC to Google Photos. You may be able to see the photos in there as long as you had Sync enabled with your Google Account on your phone. You can click the cloud at the top of the page to upload them to the PC. Then go to Samsung's Find My Mobile and try to unlock your phone from there.

I need to get my passcode for my Samsung S4 without a factory reset?
I don't need to change my Google email password. I need to have my passcode emailed to me if possible for my Samsung S4. I reset my passcode and forgot the code and now unable to retrieve my messages or phone numbers. I don't want to lose all my contact info since I have not backed it up on my Google account.
You do not change your password. You use your Google Account to log in once you have clicked forgotten password. This way you will not have to hard reset the phone and can access it immediately after you use the Google Account method.
My encryption password is not being recognized?
I have just set up encryption and waited for it to encrypt the phone. However, when it rebooted, it doesn't recognize my password.
I'm happy to Factory Reset it but my home key is broken, so I can't even get to the boot menu! I'm using a Galaxy S2.
Once the phone reboots the first time, this is when the Encryption process starts. It can take over one hour. Since your Home button is broken, you can hard reset using the ADB tools method. The Encryption is irreversible unless you factory reset the device.
Move all pictures and audio files to a safe place?
I want to reset my S3 phone to factory settings.
Follow the steps in the main article on how to do this. You can transfer to your PC for a safe place. You also can go into the Settings and click Backup before you factory reset.
