First, we turn on the camera by toggling the power switch.
The quickest way to force the flash is to go to the "Creative Auto" function.
We rotate the mode dial to select "CA".
It has the icon of a rectangle.
We tap on the "Q" button on the screen or press the quick control button to edit settings.
Now, we tap on the flash setting twice.
It has an icon with a lightning.
We can tap the icon with the letter "A".
This will set the flash to "Auto flash".
We can tap on the lightning icon.
This will set the flash to "Flash on".
We can tap on the crossed lightning.
This will set the flash to "Flash off".
Let's tap on "Flash on" for this tutorial.
We half-press the shutter-release button.
It will focus on an object and open the flash device.
We full-press the shutter-release button.
This will activate the flash as a photo is taken.
We close the flash device manually.
The other way of forcing the flash is to set the mode dial to "M".
This will choose the manual mode. It is important to note that the manual mode requires our setting all of the photography options, including the ISO setting, shutter speed, f-stop, etc.
To activate the flash in manual mode, we press the flash button on the frontal side of the camera.
Once you do that, the flash will be activated.
