Steps

  1. 1
As you can see, the buttons are repeatedly flashing on and off on my Samsung Galaxy.
In fact, it looks a little possessed. If I turn it upside-down, it does not look unlike a monster coming to get me. But it is probably not a monster, just a crazy phone.

It has been running slow all day, and I may consider taking it back to Samsung, making me think why Samsung does not have a Genius Bar like Apple.
To solve the whole malfunctioning situation, I am going first to flip it over, the camera facing me.

This way, I can actually reach the little button and pop the cover back off.
Take the cover off. Right now, the phone is crying in protest, "Please do not take the back off".

Remove the battery, pulling it out by the farther side.
"But too bad, Mister Phone! You have crossed me for the last time, and we will take your battery out". Wait for several seconds.

And now perform what is known as a soft reset of the phone.
A soft reset is when you basically erase this little crazy monster phone's memory and then, once it is erased, you put the battery back in. And the permanent memory (things that are on the SD card located in the slot near the battery), and any details on the SIM-card are still saved here. What is not saved is that crazy flashing shaky "oh-my-gosh-what's-going-on-with-me-I-am-a-lunatic" phone thing that has just been happening. Now, we take the battery with the golden contacts, and snap it into the phone.

Take our beautiful little blue back that matches rather nicely with the camera on the phone.
We press down on the cover, as if popping the bubble wrap (but closing the phone instead).

Now, simply press and hold the power button.
I place the phone on the stand so that you can feel as good about it as I do.

The phone should power on with a vibration.
Notice that the daemon-eyes thing is not happening. That is because we basically took out the battery from our phone, which is almost like exorcising the technology daemons. With Samsung Galaxy, you are going to do it from time to time. And you have to do the same with other phones like iPhone. When it starts going nuts, you just have to restart it, reset it, or reinstall everything.

We are back on the lock screen.
We can see that it is 9 o'clock on Saturday, April 18th, which is funny because I could have sworn that it was not actually the time.
