Fix SD Card Read Errors on a Canon Video Camera
Edited by Grimm, JellyBean, Eng
Hi, this is Henry. You're watching VisiHow. Today, I'm going to show you how to initialize a Class 10 SD card, which is used for High Definition digital video. The card moves very quickly.
- 4Maybe we want to take our memory card with us. In that case, we're going to have to pull this card out and take it with us, or put it in the machine. When that happens, sometimes the card will have errors. Windows will read it and say it can't see this card, or one person with a Mac is going to look at it, then another person with Windows, or vice versa. They're not going to be able to see it.There are times where maybe we can't.
- 5We don't ever put this card into our computer and format it. That's not how this works. We put this card back into our camera, as soon as Windows tells us it's not happy, and after we've copied the files we want to save. Let's ease this card into the slot on the camera and give it a little nudge. We should hear a click when the card is properly inserted. This is how we fix that problem.
- 19Don't let your PC do it. You will regret that choice. Thanks for choosing VisiHow. If you have any more questions about cameras, or recording, why don't you give us a shout in the comment section below. We will be very happy to help you. Have a great day and see you soon. That's how you get your SD card, especially these high capacity Class 10 cards, formatted properly by the camera.Advertisement
