Extend the Samsung Galaxy S5 Lock Screen Timeout

Hi, you're watching VisiHow. Today, we're going to show you how to correct problems with your lock screen when it times out or closes out too quickly. To start with, let's demonstrate:

    If we press the power button on the right-hand side of your phone, the lock screen will open up

    Now, we've got about 6 seconds normally before the lock screen turned off
    .
    But as you saw, my lock screen just turned off in a matter of 2 to 3 seconds. Let's do that again, press the Power button. The screen will remain for 3 seconds before it goes off. That fast! If you're using the fingerprint scanner or another option, and you look away or check something on your phone, you're not going to be able to do that when your lock screen is set like this.

    We're going to access the Settings menu

    The Settings menu can be accessed by tapping on the Apps button and scrolling through the menus until you find the Settings button. Tap on the icon.

    Another way of getting to Settings is by swiping down to access the Notification Panel

    Press the Home button to get back to your Home screen. On the Home screen, swipe down. Tap on the Settings icon at the top.

    With Settings opened, go to Power Saving options

    Under Power Saving, you will see Power Saving mode, which is turned on at the moment

    You could also have Ultra Power Saving mode turned on. We'll discuss Power Saving mode in another article.

    Turn Power Saving mode off

    Tap on the little green switch to turn it off.

    Go back to see that Power Saving mode is off

    Make sure that Ultra Power Saving mode is also off.

    Simply press the power button one time to lock your screen

    The phone's screen will now last for 8 to 9 seconds. That's how long you have to access your phone. If you swipe down for fingerprint scan or anything else like that, you'd want that setup.

My Gs5 screen not turn off even after timeout?

Every time I get a notification and screen turn on then it not turn off automatically as I have to do it manually. I have tried: Stay awake off, day dream off. I think it was caused by: No idea
