Can I change my S3 battery without backing up my data?

It looks like my battery on my S3 is no longer holding decent charge, can I simply replace my battery without losing any data? do I need to backup my data someplace or is a battery replacement a simply process. I have tried: Nothing. I think it was caused by: Original battery is getting old

Replacing your battery is a very simple matter, no fair of data lose. It is yet advised to charge your new battery for at least 7-8H before initial use. Turn off your mobile, replace old battery with the new one, and plug it in the wall charger.
