Hi, welcome to VisiHow. Today I'm going to teach you how to enable or disable notifications using the Kik application on the iPhone 6.
To begin, press the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone.
Alternatively, we can unlock our phone by pressing the home button at the bottom of the screen.
Swipe to the right to enter your passcode.
As an alternative to entering your passcode, put your finger on the home button to use the fingerprint scanner.
Find the settings icon, which is grey with a grey gear inside.
Scroll down to the bottom where applications are listed in alphabetical order, and tap on "Kik" which is indicated by the Kik icon on the left side.
Tap on "Notifications" which is the middle option.
Enable notifications by tapping on the bubble beside "Allow Notifications".
The bubble will turn green to indicate that the option has been enabled, and now we can go through and edit our preferences.
Tap on "Show in Notification Center" to edit how many will show up in the notification center.
Tap on an option to choose the number of notifications we will see.
The default selection is "5 Recent Items" and is indicated by the blue check mark on the right. We can also select "No Recent Items" for none, "1 Recent Item", or "10 Recent Items" by just tapping them and making the check mark move.
Tap on "Notifications" in the top-left corner to go back.
Enable or disable sounds by tapping on the bubble next to "Sounds".
Tap on the bubble next to "Badge App Icon" to enable or disable the option.
Tap the bubble next to "Show on Lock Screen" to enable or disable the option.
Tap on "None", "Banners", or "Alerts" at the bottom to select the format that notifications will be shown.
The ring around the word indicates that the option is selected.
Tap on "Kik" in the top-left corner to go back.
The options will automatically save.
Press the home button once.
Find the Kik icon, which is white with a black speech bubble, and tap it once to open the application.
Tap on the gear icon in the top-left corner to open the settings menu.
Tap on "Notifications", which is the second option down indicated by the blue square on the left.
Now we can edit our in-app notifications as well. In this example, everything is enabled.
Tap on the bubble next to "Sound" to enable or disable sounds.
Tap on the bubble next to "Vibration" to enable or disable vibration.
Tap on the bubble next to "Message Preview" to enable or disable the option.
Tap on the bubble next to "Notify for New People" to enable or disable the option.
Tap on "Disable" to confirm disabling the option.
Tap on "Cancel" to dismiss the change and go back.
Tap on "Back" in the top-left corner to go back.
Everything saves automatically.
Tap on "Done" in the top-left corner to finish and go back to the main Kik screen.
Now you know how to enable or disable notifications using the Kik application on the iPhone 6.
