Enable or Disable Location Tagging for Gallery Photos on HTC One M8
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to add locations to photos in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.
We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen.
There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.
Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap on the Gallery application.
It has an icon of a photo, and the photo looks like some yellow sand dunes. Underneath it says the word "Gallery".
We now want to go to the settings menu by tapping the 3 horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner.
The last option is "Event locations" and underneath it says, "Automatically add location to events (uses data connection)".
So, this automatically adds location to our photos. If we want the option to be selected, which is the default setting, we can leave the white checkmark in the green box.
If we want to turn it off so that it doesn't add our location to events, then press down on the box until it's empty.
Tap it again to turn it on again.
This concludes the tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to add locations to photos in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
