Edit WiFi Downloads on WhatsApp for HTC One M8
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng, Anonymous
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to edit what media is automatically downloaded in WhatsApp when using WiFi on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.
We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen.
There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.
Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the WhatsApp application.
There is a WhatsApp icon, which is a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside, and underneath it says "WhatsApp". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.
We now need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
There are three small white dots in a vertical line.
Tap on the second option, "Media auto-download".
Tap on "When connected on WiFi".
This refers to what type of media will be auto-downloaded when connected to WiFi. In this case it says, "All media" underneath. We will see three types of media, and they will all have check marks in their boxes, indicating that they are all selected.
To deselect an option so that this type of media will not be auto-downloaded when connected to WiFi, press down on the box and the check mark will disappear.
To select one and add it to the list, press down on the box until it is turquoise with a white check mark inside.
When we're happy with our choices, we can press down on "OK".
That will confirm our choice.
This concludes the tutorial on how to edit what media is automatically downloaded in WhatsApp when using WiFi on an HTC One M8.
