I blocked people but they can still view my story?

I have blocked a number of people from viewing my story, however they have all been able to see my story. This has happened on a number of occasions. I have edited who can view my story by going into settings and blocking people, so I don't see why it didn't work. Help would be much appreciated.

Log out of Snap Chat and clear the cached data from the app each time you block someone. This has worked for me because sometimes the blocked people and changes in your app settings do not update until you log out and log back in. If after you have done these tricks, the people can still see your stories then you will want to contact Snap Chat support.

Make sure you are choosing my friends can view my story throughout the entire app. You will be asked to confirm and do that each time as well. Clearing the cache may help because even though you deleted the app, the cache was still on your device.

You should have made a custom post. When you block the everyone setting it still shows to your friends or a custom setting. Next time choose my friends throughout the app and then go to custom for that one person you want to view. Custom specifically blocks people so you will have to go to the list and choose who you do not want to view before posting.

Do they get the notification that you blocked them from seeing your snapchat story

The person will not receive a notification of his or her being blocked. However, he or she might infer his or her being blocked by not seeing your user name on his or her contact list. It will appear to him or her as if you have deleted your account.

Or can I just see "open" snaps?. I have tried: I have not tried anything yet. Just wondering.. I think it was caused by: This is for me not a problem, it is more a consideration, on how my company can get most out of Snapchat as possible.

If you select who can send me snaps and view my story to Everyone that is essentially going Public on Snap Chat. Since this is for a Company, those settings are fine because you are not posting private communication. It is the difference between a Facebook profile and Facebook page.

Snap Chat has not yet introduced a feature that can hide a person's story from the timeline unless you block them which then means they can't view your stories. You would have to unblock if you wanted them to see a story and then block them again to dismiss their stories from your timeline.

Don't want to see one of my friends snaps in 'Stories'?

One of my friends posts too much and I want to hide his posts from stories. Is there a way to do that?

The only way is to block. You can tell the friend that they are clogging up your timeline and ask that they custom block you. It will be an awkward conversation but I doubt you are the only person who feels that they are posting way too much stuff on a daily basis.

They just deleted and did not choose Block. This is why you could see the stories still. Eventually, they must have blocked you because you could not send stories but there was a delay in the app which is why you had the confusion.

How does custom my story works?

I blocked one friend from seeing my story using the 'Custom' setting. If I unblock them again, will they be able to see the previous stories I posted within the 24 hours? Or only new stories I post from the time I unblocked them onward?

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

They will only be able to see the new stories as the previous custom will stay that way for that posting. If you are unsure of it then delete the posting just to be on the safe side.

If I unblock them again, will they be able to see the previous stories I posted within the 24 hours? Or only new stories I post from the time I unblocked them onward?

If I unblock them from viewing my story. I have tried: I always unblock and block different people from viewing my story. I think it was caused by: I just want to know because sometimes I block people by accident and I wanted them to see my story

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

If you want them to see your story then post the story again without the blocking or send it privately to that person. Once you block then they will only see what you post after you unblock again.

If I custom it by blocking some friends, will they be off my friends list?

I chose to limit certain people to see my stories

Until you change the setting from custom then those blocked will not be able to see your stories. These people stay on your friend's list although inactive when you block them with a custom post.
