Questions and Answers

How do I reshape a face when there are a few people in the picture?

The box around the subject's face won't move to the subject I want to edit.

Galaxy S4 built-in photo editor will automatically choose the faces on the picture when you tap on the "Portrait" edit option. There are edit options under Portrait that the phone only gets to choose the face that t thinks needs to be enhanced, so when you tap on the "Beauty Face" option to change the face of subjects, Galaxy S4 will automatically choose what subject needs to be changed and there is no manual way of choosing the subject. You can download third-party applications that allow you to change the face shapes of a picture with multiple people on it. Beauty Camera And Perfect365 are two of the better photo editors that focus on facial edits. Download either application from Play Store or directly from your mobile web.

Even though the S4 is an amazing device, it does have its limitations when it comes to capturing every face in a picture. I notice you said there are multiple people in the picture, so unfortunately, you will not be able to edit the one particular person.

Ina group picture, how you can choose from different people to do a beauty face edit in Samsung S4?

If there is number of people in the picture, how can I select a certain person to do the edits for using beauty face option? Can it be done for different people in the same photo?

Unfortunately, It is not possible to manually select the subject on Samsung Galaxy S4's built-in photo editor's Beauty Face feature. If there are too many people in the picture you are tying to edit, your phone will automatically select the subject that needs to be enhanced, and there is no option to choose the subject yourself. You can do what you want by downloading a third-party application such as Perfect365, that will allow you to edit multiple people in one photo. You may download this application for free on Google Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arcsoft.perfect365&hl=tl

In order to use this feature, you simply need to tap on the person's face while in the red eye mode to fix the red eye in your image. Once you click on the person's face, the device will remove the red eye if possible. Sometimes, it just doesn't seem to work, but your are doing it the right way.

I have Note3, and the Portrait feature Airbrush is stuck on one face?

It has a square on one person's face and the alterations only happen to that one face. I'd like to fix everyone's face/red eye, etc.

Unfortunately, editing multiple people's face in one photo on Samsung Galaxy Note3's built in photo editor isn't possible. This is because your editor is set to automatically choose the face that needs to be enhanced, and there is no way to manually select the face you want to edit. However, you can download a third-party application called Perfect365 which will allow you to edit multiple people in one photo. You can get this application on Google Play Store for free. How do I stop my 'edited' photos in Gallery from being saved as png instead of jpg as they were BEFORE the edit?

I have not been able to figure out WHERE to change the default setting in Gallery that changes photo format from jpg to png every time I edit. Please HELP ???

The best solution I can find is to do this. Download a photo editing app. Something like Photo Editor by Macgyver, Camera360 Ultimate, or Cymera. All of these should allow you to specifically save an edited photo in a selected format.

For best results, the picture you must use to do a Beauty Face is one that's focused on the face, with only one person in the photo. You could take a "selfie", if it's a picture of you you'd like to manipulate. Do the following to edit in Beauty Face:

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

  • Go to your gallery app.
  • Tap the picture you want to edit.
  • Tap "Edit Image" (upper right icon with Polaroid picture and pencil).
  • Tap the Effects button/wand.
  • Tap the person with the wand icon to edit their portrait.
  • Tap beauty face.
  • You can then adjust the intensity or change by moving the pointers to the desired level for each of the four facial options.

If it is too hard for you to tweak, you can try apps like Camera 360 that has the effect to make skin smooth. It also has other effects that you can use for social networks like instagram.

You could find some useful Samsung frame app on Google play

You can download various apps that can do this. Usually, these apps have templates already. Just select and input your photo there. There are also apps that allow you to not just add a singular frame, but you can make something similar to a magazine. Most of these apps are free and all you have to do is download them onto your device. It will keep the original version of the photo as well, even when you have converted it into a framed picture later on.
