    To begin, unlock the phone by pressing the power button on the top, right-hand side.

    Tap once on the Apps menu icon in order to open up all of the applications that are visible in the Apps menu because the Google Photos application is not installed on the mobile phone in this example.
    Google Photos can be accessed through Google Drive. We can get to Google Drive through the Apps menu. The Apps menu icon is located on the lower right-hand side of the home screen in this example. It is a grey box with of set white squares inside of it and below the icon it says "Apps."

    We can scroll to the left and right until we find the icon for Google Drive.
    It is a triangular icon in three colors and below it says the word "Drive."

    Tap the "Drive" icon once to open the application.
    This takes us to the documents area.

    Tap the three horizontal lines to the left of the words 'My Drive' in order to get to Google Photos from this menu.
    These three lines are located in the grey bar across the top of the screen. From here we can open up all of our account options and switch between our accounts.

    Tap on the third option in the list called, "Google Photos." It opens up the area for Google Photos.

    Tap the screen once if the icon disappears.

    In the second row, the second icon is a download icon. It is indicated with a down arrow pointing at a line and the word "Download" is underneath it.

    We can see that the download has been completed and we can see 'notifications' for more details.
    There is a solid down arrow in the top left corner indicating that there was either a problem with the download or that the download has been completed, if we've missed the pop-up notification.
