Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to download languages to use in the Voice Search application on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen, hold down until two padlock icons appear, and swipe up.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen.
At the bottom, we will see several icons. We now need to find the Settings menu, and to do that, we can swipe the Notification Panel down.
Press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.
Now, the Notification Panel has appeared.
We are looking for the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
There is a white cog icon, and this is the Settings icon. Press down on this to open up the Settings menu.
It will say the word "Settings" at the top left corner of the screen.
Scroll down to the "PHONE" section.
The word "PHONE" will be in the gray bar.
In this section, scroll down a bit more to "Language & keyboard".
Next to these words is the "Language & keyboard" icon, which is a 3D box with a capital "A" inside.
Press down on this, and it will open up the "Language & keyboard" menu.
On this screen, we are looking for the words, "Google voice typing".
Press down on this.
Now, on the "Settings" screen, we are looking for "Offline speech recognition".
Below that it says,"Manage downloaded languages". This section allows us to download languages, so we can use the Voice Search application. That means using our voice to talk to Google. We can download languages, so we can use those other languages to use this service.
Press down on "Offline speech recognition".
The next screen says "Download languages" at the top.
Just below that and to the left it says, "INSTALLED".
The HTC One M8 used in this demonstration has "English (US)" pre-installed on it.
Swipe across the screen to the left to get to the "ALL" section.
A thin turquoise bar appears under the word "ALL" to indicate we are in that section.
There are quite a few languages that can be downloaded.
Press down on a language to download it.
This will open a small screen of information about that language.
The information about Espanol (Espana) states, "Version 2 available, download size 15.33MB".
We can download the language by pressing "DOWNLOAD" at the bottom right corner of the information window.
As we can see, the download is complete, and "Espanol (Espana) has been added to our languages.
We can now select it to use the Voice Search function.
This concludes our tutorial on how to download languages to use in the Voice Search application of an HTC One M8.
