Deactivate and Uninstall Viber from the Samsung Galaxy S5
Edited by Grimm, Rushell, Eng, Anonymous
You are watching VisiHow, and today we are going to show you how to deactivate and uninstall Viber from your Samsung Galaxy S5.
Let's give a single press to the lock screen button on the right side of the phone.
Now, we're going to swipe across the screen, unlock, tap or use any other method you may have, such as a PIN, a fingerprint, or a pattern.
Then what we're going to do is we are going to look for the Viber application.
To do that we are going to tap on the Apps folder at the bottom right corner of the screen. We are going to swipe through until we find Viber.
One tap on Viber will open it up.
You can see that we have a number of different settings on our Viber phone.
What we want to find is our master control, so tap the More icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Now, we are going to go down to Settings.
Tap to open the Settings screen.
Under Settings, we have several options.
The first of them is Privacy. If you tap on this, another screen opens. Scroll down to see all of the available options. We can select to share our online status. We can block lists. We can disconnect Facebook, or we can deactivate our account.
In this case, we are going to tap Deactivate Account.
A screen will appear stating, Choosing Deactivate will remove your data from Viber and deactivate Viber from all of your devices.
This is what we want to do, so tap on deactivate.
Let's deactivate Viber. You will see a message that says Deactivating and then a message that says Leaving Viber. That will remove it from all of our devices associated with this phone number. That means if you have this phone number setup, as an example, your PC, or your MAC, or a tablet, then that version of Viber will also be deactivated from this phone number. That does not mean that you cannot later have another phone number or set up another Viber account.
Now, to remove Viber, we are going to press and hold the Viber icon.
Then we are going to drag that up to the Uninstall icon that will appear at the top of the screen.
It should be the fourth option from the left.
A prompt will appear on the screen that says Uninstall application, and underneath that, Viber will be uninstalled.
Yes, that is what we want to do, so tap on Uninstall to uninstall Viber.
Now, to confirm that Viber has been uninstalled we will tap on the Apps icon.
We will look in the window where Viber previously was, and you will see that Viber is no longer there.
Now, our phone is restarting in order to complete the removal of Viber and all associated and related components.
This may take a moment to start back up; however, it's a necessary part of the uninstallation process, as Viber has access to a number of core systems that cause the Android and Samsung systems to function and interact together.
In one moment, our phone will be turned back on.
Now, VisiHow is back up. Let's give a quick swipe across our lock screen once more to access the phone.
Let's double tap our Apps, and let's scroll over and confirm that indeed Viber is no longer there.
Now, we can press on our Home button which is the black button at the bottom of the phone.
That takes us back to our Home screen.
This concludes our tutorial on deactivating and uninstalling Viber from your Samsung Galaxy S5 or S5 Mini.
Thank you for choosing VisiHow. We do hope that this tutorial has been helpful, and we look forward to seeing you in future videos. Have a great day.
