Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can customize the speech volume of the TalkBack feature on the HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the device on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen and at the bottom we will see some icons.
We need to find the Settings menu.
To find Settings, we need to swipe the Notification Panel down. To do that, start right at the top of the screen and swipe downwards.
We can see that the Notifications Panel has appeared.
We are looking for the icon on the top-right-hand corner of the screen.
We can see that there is a white cog icon. This is our Settings icon. Press down on the icon and it will open up our Settings menu.
We can see that it says the word "Settings" on the top left-hand corner of the screen.
Let's scroll down until we are on the "PERSONAL" section.
We are looking for the Accessibility option. Next to the "Accessibility" word is the hand icon.
Press down on the option and it will open up our Accessibility menu.
We want the first option which is "TalkBack".
Press down on the option and it will take us to the TalkBack menu.
What we need to do now is access the Settings for TalkBack.
To do that, we need to press the menu icon on the top right-hand corner of the screen. We can see that are three small white squares in a vertical line. Press down on the icon and it will show us a little menu. Press down on "Settings".
We can see we all the TalkBack Settings.
The first option says, "Speech Volume". "Match Media Volume" is the current option selected. Press down on that option.
We will see the different Speech Volume options.
We have the option currently selected which is the "Match media volume". We also have "75% of media volume", "50% of media volume", or "25% of media volume".
As we probably know, the TalkBack feature allows us to press down on the screen and the HTC One M8 will tell us what the option is.
It would read the text to us and we can change to the volume that we desire because we might want to have our ringtone or alarm louder. If someone is speaking to us, we may not need the TalkBack to be as loud as the media volume.
Let's make the selection by pressing down on the option that we want.
We just pressed down on the 50%.
Now, it says 50% of media volume.
To change the volume again, press down the same option.
We can see that the green circle has moved to the option we just selected. We can choose another option if we need to.
This concludes our tutorial on how to customize the speech volume of the TalkBack feature on the HTC One M8.
