You are now ready to transfer the purchases from your iPod or other iOS device to your Laptop:

  • Connect your iTunes device to your Laptop.
  • Follow the message that appears that says you can now transfer purchases.

It is possible that when you pair your device to your Laptop you will not be prompted to authorize it. The "Do not ask me again" was selected in the past. If this happens, do not despair. You still have two other easy-to-follow procedures to transfer the purchases.

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

  • Once connected, an icon will display in your iTunes. Go to File menu > Devices > Transfer Purchases from (your iOS device).

Another way to transfer purchases is to go to the "View Menu", then "Show Sidebar".

  • Right"click, or if you have a Mac, control-click your iPod in the "Source List".
  • Select "Transfer Purchases" from the menu.

  • You can only transfer purchases from your iTunes Store. No other sources can copy and transfer to your iTunes library on your Laptop.
  • Once connected, if you click "Erase and Sync", you will remove the present content on your iPod or other iOS device. Any content already in your iTunes Library on your Laptop will replace the content that was deleted.
  • If you cannot find an item that you purchased for transferring to your Laptop, go to "Downloading Past Purchases" at your iTunes Store and App Store.
