Connecting my Galaxy Note4 to my Samsung S6 TV?

Unfortunately my TV is an older model which resulted in me purchasing an Samsung MHL to HDMI converter.. The converter works at a friends house to her older Phillips TV, however it will not work in mine.. It 'connects' in that I can pick up my phone under the device list on my TV, but the screen will not even mirror.. I have tried: I have tried reconnecting, re-starting, but I am confused as to why it easily works on a Phillips TV but not on my Samsung.. I think it was caused by: Is there perhaps a setting on my TV that is not allowing it to read from my phone?

Can I display my Amazon Prime videos on my TV through Samsung Galaxy ON5?

I have a non MHL Samsung Galaxy ON5. I would like to stream my Amazon prime videos to my new TV which has HDMI connector. I also do not have WiFi. How do I do this and what cables/adapter/converters do I need. My only phone port is a 5 pin charger port. Thanks. Melanie. I cannot find anything relative to this question. I have looked at several blogs and nothing to this effect is mentioned. The cable I ordered had an 11 pin micro male which would not fit into my phone. Do I have to plug the phone into a power source or will it use power through the HDMI cable?
