Usually, when this kind of problem arises, it is most often because of a problem with the connector. However, the difference in length between the MHL end and the charging cord should not really matter. It is intended to be like that and also the thickness of the cord also somewhat differs.

I want to connect my Samsung Tab 4 to a monitor. I can't see an answer here if it can

The best way to connect Samsung devices to most HDTVs is with the MHL adapter. You can buy the adapter from Samsung online at [1] if you are inside the US, or you can buy it elsewhere. You also need the MHL-to-HDMI adapter and the HDMI cable. Your device will also need to support MHL. The MHL adapter goes into the micro-USB port of the phone. Connect the wall charger to the port on the side of the MHL adapter and plug the charger into the wall. Connect the HDMI cable to the adapter and plug the other end into your television. Another way is "Screen mirroring" in the "Settings" menu on your Samsung Tab 4. To connect wirelessly, tap "Settings". Tap "Connections". Tap "Screen mirroring". This will make your HDTV, Blu-ray player, or AllShare Hub appear in the device list. Choose the device and mirroring will begin. Note: You can use wireless mirroring if you have a 2013 Smart TV from Samsung. You can also use a Samsung Blu-ray player with AllShare Cast (BD-F7500). If you do not have these, you can purchase the AllShare Cast Wireless Hub from Samsung. It will turn your HDTV into an additional display for the phone. .

Galaxy Tab4 tablet - HDMI to Samsung TV

Here is an HDMI cable from Maplins. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-essentials-hdmi-cable-15m-a00nt Here are some from another UK store. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Browse/ID72/33014608/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CTechnology%7C33006169/c_2/2%7C33006169%7CTelevisions+and+accessories%7C33008651/c_3/3%7Ccat_33008651%7CCables%7C33014608/r_001/4%7CType%7CHDMI%7C1.htm My advice is to pick the longest cable for your own comfort. Along with an HDMI cable that you will buy, you need the MHL adapter that you can purchase from the Samsung online store at http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-H10FAUWESTA or from http://www.amazon.co.uk/TV-out-Samsung-Galaxy-Adapter-HNPtech/dp/B00CS6Y8KC , for example. Just search for MHL to HDMI adapters. The MHL adapter goes into the micro-USB port of the phone. Connect the wall charger to the port on the side of the MHL adapter and plug the charger into the wall. Connect the HDMI cable to the adapter and plug the other end into your television.

I have a new Galaxy Tab 4 that I want to connect to some FPV goggles for use with camera drone. Bought micro USB to HDMI converter with supporting power supply (battery). Can't even get an image on HD TV through HDMI port?

Can Galaxy Tab 4 connect to HD TV using the correct powered adapter or is Tab 4 one of the models that will not do so?

HDMI out is not supported on the Galaxy Tab 4. Some of the Nvidea tablets do support the HDMI out specifically for using FPV goggles.

The TV shows not supporting the signal?

The TV shows not supporting the signals. I have tried: I connected Tab 4 with my TV by HDMI adapter and connected the charger too, but TV shows that "not supported signals "

Not supported signals means that you are either connecting to the wrong WiFi connection if you are trying OTA or you are using MHL which the Galaxy Tab 4 does not support.

It will not work. You should have purchased the AllShare Hub or the Chromecast dongle to stream OTA. Sorry.

6% charge could that be it? Got everything hooked up but no picture on TV yet?

Does screen mirroring have to be on?

Yes, screen mirroring needs to be enabled to on. Also, you should be at 50% or more charged on a device before screen mirroring. Some Android devices in Power Saving Mode will not stream below the 50% charge.

I was going to buy an MHL to HDMI adapter at Stern in Mexico but I was told that there must be an app that says MHL, is that correct?

Cause I can not find it in the applications menu. I have tried: Nothing, I didn't buy the adapter until checking in the app menu but I do not find anything in the tablet that says MHL

You should be looking for Screen Mirror or Cast in the settings of your device. There are apps like EZCast that can be used to stream OTA to a Smart TV or dongle.
