Edited by Grimm, Courtney, Anonymous, Eng
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how you can connect another device to your iPhone 6 personal hotspot.
To begin, give a single press to the Home button.
This button is located in the center, at the bottom of the screen.
Once we have done that, simply swipe or slide to the right.
This will give us access to the Touch ID or Passcode screen.
Here, we can enter in our Passcode, or press our finger to the Home button, this will activate the Touch ID sensor.
This will bring us to the Home screen of the phone.
From here, we simply need to find and tap the Settings icon.
This icon is gray and silver, with a series of gear shapes inside.
This will open up the Settings application for us.
From here, we are looking for the option labeled "Personal HotSpot".
This will be the fifth option down, in the first section of the Settings menu. To the right of this label, there will be a green box with two, white, rectangular outlines inside. If this option is not present, we will need to find Personal HotSpot and set it up. Please refer to our VisiHow guide, on how to add or set up a missing Personal HotSpot on the iPhone 6.
Give a single press to "Personal HotSpot", this will take us into the "Personal HotSpot" section.
Here we will need to confirm that our Personal HotSpot is on.
To the right of the option labeled "Personal HotSpot", there will be a white circle. The slider behind the circle will be green if the option is turned on. If the icon on the screen shows the slider as gray, give it a single tap until it is green in color.
Once we have confirmed that our personal hotspot is on, we will need to find another device to connect to.
We will be using HTC One M8.
To connect the other device, in our case an HTC One M8, we are going to press at the top of the screen and swipe down.
This will give us access to the Notification panel.
Then we are going to tap on the white cog icon, located in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
This is our Settings icon.
This will bring us to the Settings menu, where we will need to focus on the option labeled "WiFi".
This option is the second one down, with a rectangular on and off button the right of it.
Currently, we can see that we are connected to a Huawei network.
Tap on "WiFi" one time, this will bring us to a new menu labeled "WiFi".
From here we will locate our iPhone network, labeled "iPhone".
Tap on "iPhone" one time, this will bring up a dialog box asking us to enter the security password.
Tap on the number icon, in the bottom left-hand corner of the keyboard.
This icon will be labeled "12#".
Then we will proceed to enter the password, shown on the iPhone "Personal HotSpot" screen.
Once we have entered in our password, we can tap "Show password" to ensure it was entered correctly.
This open is directly under the text box, which we have just entered the password into.
Then we are going to tap on "CONNECT".
This is the right option, located in the "iPhone" dialog box.
It will take a moment for us to connect.
Once we are connected, we will note at the top of our HTC One M8, we will see the Data icon turn white. Data will be moving back and forth, as indicated by the up and down arrows.
We can now tap the Home button of our HTC One M8, this will bring us to the Home screen.
This icon is located at the bottom center of the screen. It is represented by a white outline of a house.
We can then open our Web Browser, by tapping the globe icon at the bottom right side of the screen.
This icon is fourth in the row of icons, represented by a blue globe.
We can then tap the search bar at the top, entering in anything we would like and then tapping the enter key.
This key is represented by a green arrow pointing to the left, located at the bottom right-hand corner of the keyboard. In our case, we are going to search for "VisiHow".
We can see that the web page we have entered has been opened.
Here we have access to the VisiHow home page.
This then completes our tutorial, on how you can connect over a WiFi network to an iPhone 6 hotspot.
