    The trombone, as you know, is a brass instrument, which requires warm air to move through it.
    Warm air builds up and creates condensation, or spit, that needs to be released. The end of the slide on the trombone has a spit valve. The spit valve allows all of the condensation to be released from the trombone when pressing down on the valve.

    Blow hard into the mouth piece in order to empty all of the condensation.

    Now that we are holding the slide, you must take the big stick in order to clean all of the residue from all of the slide.

    For the big stick that you'll put into the slide, take a small cloth that comes with your trombone and attach it to the stick.

    From this point, make sure that it's in all the way and that it's not going to get stuck in the trombone.
    Put it in all the way to pull out all the residue. Continue to go down and up to collect all the residue and condensation that has built up.

    Begin with unscrewing the bell, placing it down, and taking out the mouthpiece.

    Now, take out the brass encasement to expose the slide.

    Once that's done, get your Yamaha or a different type of trombone oil that you will need to use.

    Before this, take a towel and wipe any residue or condensation off the whole slide.

    Now, let's start applying the oil.
    Take the oil and apply it to all of the parts of the slide. Do not leave any part of the slide without oil. You can use as much oil as necessary in order to increase the fluidity and consistency of the oil throughout the whole slide.

    Once the oil has been applied to the whole slide, we can begin putting the slide into its place inside the brass encasement.

    Continue to move the oil around back and forth until it is smooth.
    We have to make sure that there is no spot left without oil. This helps to increase the fluidity and range of the trombone, so that the whole trombone is saturated in the trombone oil.

    Once this has been done, you can apply some water by sprinkling it onto the slide.
